Held each May at Mohegan Park in Norwich. Sponsored by Mohegan Sun, all money raised at the Walk helps the Center for Hospice Care in Norwich provide end-of-life care and programs that enhance the quality of life for terminally ill patients and their loved ones in Southeastern CT. Additionally, Mohegan Sun volunteers help plan and staff the event and donate raffle prizes.
March of Dimes March for Babies
An average of 10-20 Team Members have volunteered at the event over the years. Additionally, designated Blue Jeans for Babies days have been held each year during which Team Members can wear jeans to work in exchange for a small donation to the organization. Last year, Team Members raised a combined total of over $7,000 during our blue jeans fundraisers and have raised an average of $1,000 during previous year’s fundraisers.
Over the Edge for Special Olympics
Held each year since 2010, this public event sends individuals to the top of the Sky Tower to rappel down all 30+ stories to raise money for Special Olympics Connecticut! Last year our team raised over $17,000 for the organization. Between 10-30 Team Members have participated in the event each year.
Disability inclusion at Mohegan Sun is about more than hiring people with disabilities. Our inclusive workplace values all Team Members for their strengths. It offers those with disabilities — whether visible or invisible — an equal opportunity to succeed, to learn, to be compensated fairly, and to advance. True inclusion is about embracing our differences.
