In 2002, the Mohegan tribal leadership embarked on a plan to diversify its revenue sources by pursuing gaming/entertainment opportunities off the Mohegan Reservation. Corporate Development was created to identify and evaluate various diversification opportunities in conjunction with the Mohegan Tribe. These opportunities include the ownership and management of commercial gaming/entertainment enterprises through direct investment, acquisition, joint venture arrangements and loan transactions. In addition, MTGA provides gaming development and management services to federally recognized Indian tribes seeking to establish gaming operations.

Along with our flagship property, Mohegan Sun, MTGA is actively involved in three exciting gaming projects. We are assisting the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin in the development of a major casino facility in southeastern Wisconsin. After opening, MTGA will serve as the management team. Concurrently, we are working with the Cowlitz Indian Tribe of Washington in their efforts to establish a major gaming facility in the Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington markets. In Pennsylvania, MTGA is developing "Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs", a commercial casino and harness racing facility in the beautiful Pocono Mountain Region of eastern Pennsylvania. For more details on each of these projects visit our properties.
