PrimeTime
The Wolf Den
On January 31, 2010, Connecticut witnessed the launch of the band known as PrimeTime and what a launch it was! PrimeTime was born in the mind of Ralph Valente, who at the time was playing drums in a band with bassist Paul Puglisi. They listened to their audience, understood what the people wanted and knew they had the top musicians in mind who could create Ralph's vision. Ralph first turned to his brother Sal and talked him out of retirement. Sal agreed (he was sought after by many bands, but would only come back out for his brother)…the additions of Zeke and Friday came soon after and the vision became a reality.

Bruce Robison & Kelly Willis
The Wolf Den
"Leaving," Bruce Robison & Kelly Willis »
The thing about chemistry is it can't be denied. To hear Bruce Robison & Kelly Willis sing together is to understand opposite attraction, spontaneous combustion and a whole lotta life lived together. Robison and Willis - two decades in-know the way the other leans almost without talking.
And that telekinetic thrust is what makes Cheater's Game, a collection of songs that hurt, cheat, doubt, lust and hold on, so very delicious. Whether it's the busted Samba refiguring of Dave Alvin's "Border Radio" that turns up the woman's reality from the Blasters' original, Don Williams' truth in what's really going on "We're All The Way" or the Beatles-esque shuffling pluck of sweeping close harmonies on Robison's own "But I Do," there's complexity in the neon and the heartbreak, as much said in the tone these notes are sung with as the actual lyrics or what the instrumental breaks evoke.
*Come early. Seating is limited. Must be 21 or older. Times and performers are subject to change.

The Kentucky Headhunters
The Wolf Den
"Walk Softly On This Heart Of Mine," The Kentucky Headhunters »
In 2006, The Kentucky Headhunters released Flying Under the Radar. "This CD was a mixture of album cuts that we hoped would get a second chance to be heard, from the previous three CD releases. We're glad we put the record out. A lot of folks come up and say, 'Oh, I like this song or I like that song.' That's proof that if you put a great song on a record when the times and the way people are thinking are off, it will go right over their heads," said Doug.
"Sometime around the first of 2009, we were riding down the road on the bus and got to talking about all those dusty recordings we had lying around. Weve been recording since the early 70s, and there are still a ton of things no one has heard. Then we got to thinking...what if all of a sudden, the bus grew wings and carried us all off somewhere, like heaven. No one but us would know where all those recordings are hidden. So we decided right then and there to get off our rumps and start putting them out for people to enjoy," said Richard.

Will Hoge
The Wolf Den
"Favorite Waste Of Time," Will Hoge »
Will Hoge's previous album, Draw the Curtains, had been a unanimous high-water mark in his career, a magnificent collection of Rock, Country, Soul, Blues and Folk. With a great band, good vibes and clear skies overhead, Hoge felt like he was building something real as a career artist.
Eight months after the incident he re-entered the studio in pursuit of that mission. He now has his health, an invigorated spirit and a renewed sense of his musical journey. "Making The Wreckage opened me up in a different way," says Hoge. "I felt a calmness, a purpose. Right now it feels like I'm getting to the core of what I want to do and why."
The Wreckage listens like a record with a purpose. Having stared down his own mortality, Hoge has now rediscovered the simple joys of making good music. "It's hard to explain, but I felt a certain serenity making this album," he says. "It doesn't come through in the songs, but the process has become easier, and I believe the songs flow with more confidence."
